There are two sources of Truth: God and man. Man, for all his abilities, can only discern part of the picture. But when it comes to our relationship with God, we must turn to God alone for the Truth.
Systematic theology, being man-made, too often appeals to the intellect and pride, because it requires a theological acumen, a high IQ, a proper vision of the scope of the project, how the doctrines must be laid out, and how it all relates to other disciplines. Biblical theology, on the other hand, is directly relevant to the soul’s needs. The textbook is not our theology but the Bible itself. It’s the child coming to the Father and saying, “Teach me.”
The point, therefore, of Biblical theology is to describe the Perfect Son of God, using the revelation that God gave us in the Bible (Old and New Testaments), and how we can become one with the Son – which is the only condition under which God will allow us into his presence. Biblical theology describes both the goal and the process.
This is why Biblical theology is of primary concern to all believers compared to the secondary functions of systematic theology.

In the Beginning … God imposed five curses on his new Creation.
The rest of the Bible describes how God delivers his chosen people from these five Curses.
When Adam and Eve turned their backs on their Creator, God reacted by imposing five curses upon them and upon his Creation. Since then, the entire human race has been struggling to survive against these curses – and failing. Life in this world is full of suffering, poverty, disease, war and oppression, and finally death, by God’s decree. It always will be.
The only way to overcome these curses is to turn our backs on this world completely – what we need is not here – and turn to the only Man who has overcome this world: the Eternal Son of God. Only he knows how to undo all five curses and give us the Father’s promised Inheritance.

The New Testament introduces us to a startling new concept – the fact that God is “complex,” that there is such a thing as the Trinity.
Right now, the Biblical Theologies available to us are not Trinitarian in their approach to the Bible. We need an entirely new approach to the Bible that will take seriously the fact that God is Trinitarian in nature, and that he always has dealt with man in this context. The whole Bible teaches this.
This is, in fact, the message of the Gospel – that we may know the Father as the Son knows him, by means of the Spirit of God enabling us to experience God’s fullness. It’s this inner Trinity life that Jesus came to give to the children of God.

The Gospel has been changed in modern times.
Our preachers and teachers in the Church are pretty much unanimous on what the Gospel is, and they almost all teach it the same way. What’s alarming is that the modern way of preaching the Gospel doesn’t match up with the way the Apostles preached it.
The Good News is that “The LORD has returned to Zion!” Our hope is Jesus at the right hand of the Throne of God.

History repeats itself — and people still refuse to learn.
As generations come and go, they forget the lessons of the past, turn their backs on the hard-won battles of their forefathers, and create a “new world” that isn’t new at all, nor does it solve their problems.
In our day, academics in the Church are convinced that their new resources and models will fully train leaders for our modern Church, even though they don’t match the Biblical model in the least.
If the Church today has unsolveable problems and if it’s suffering from a spiritual sickness at the hands of our godless culture, the ultimate responsibility must be laid at the feet of those who train the Church’s leaders. It’s time for change.

Something happened to the Church at the turn of the 20th Century.
There have been changes occurring in the Church over the last two centuries, particularly in the last 100 years, that have redefined the life of the Church and its ministry. The difference between our modern changes and those of past ages is that we now no longer care what the historic Church has done, and (what is worse) we no longer care what the Apostles taught.
In our day we have a particularly virulent form of unbelief that has taken over two hundred years to develop, and now it’s deeply entrenched in just about every church and school across the nation in some form or another. It fits hand-in-glove with the culture that’s been developing in the modern Western world since the Renaissance, and it’s turned the Bible into a different book from what it used to be.
It’s time to turn the light of God’s Word on what is destroying our modern Church.

Church has taken many forms over the centuries. But always, Christ’s true Church has been some form of the model set down for us in the time of the New Testament by the Apostles.
In order to understand what happens in Christ’s Church, however, we have to put both Old and New Testaments together to form the complete picture: it’s the growth of the spiritual Son being prepared to live with his Father in Heaven.
“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the Church, which is his Body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” (Ephesians 1:22-23)

God has only one Son whom he loves without measure.
Man was first made “in the image of God” — to be God’s son on earth, with the closest bond of relationship with his Father in Heaven. But he renounced his Father, turned away from his Inheritance, and chose misery, darkness and death as a result.
But in a stunning turn of events, the Father has called back his mortal enemy, the criminal of the universe, the rebel most undeserving of God’s mercy - to live with him once again, this time in the House of God in Heaven.
But there is one condition: man must empty himself completely and be filled with the Spirit of the Son.

A tough look at the way the Bible describes God's church.
Following the Bible's guidelines, the Church could become a formidable force in our society. Instead we have become lazy, careless and self-centered in our ministry and worship -- with the result that we are missing out on the truth and power that God promises his people.
Covered here are chapters on God-centered sermons and prayers, the importance of the Bible, how to approach God in worship, church discipline, and being profitable servants of Christ.

The New Model for Biblical Studies is an attempt to bring the Old and New Testaments together into one book - with one message.
Using a new paradigm that the author calls distributed revelation, this study uses the New Testament's plain interpretive principles to see the groundwork for Christianity in the Old Testament.
Once we see that foundation, the New fits into the almost complete picture that the OT gives us of Christ with two new concepts - which lifts the Jewish physical religion to a permanent, spiritual level.
The New Model gives pastors and teachers a powerful new tool for teaching the Bible's message of salvation and life in Christ.

When the Lord sent Moses into Egypt to confront Pharaoh and bring his people out of slavery, he called Israel “My Firstborn Son.”
Hidden in an obscure passage in the book of Numbers lies a minor historical event that later proved to be of tremendous spiritual consequence for the life of Israel.
The direct correlation of the Levites with the firstborn sons of Israel in Numbers 3 meant that their God planned to bring the Heirs of Abraham into such close fellowship with him as only exists between a Father and his Son.

When God takes away something precious from us, it’s for a reason. Usually it’s because we need to be disciplined, or taught the value of something we were taking for granted, or steered out of trouble into a safer direction.
The Jews have never satisfactorily explained why they lost everything 2000 years ago. Their standard answer has been that they were victims of their enemies – that their entire history has been plagued by enemies who are out to destroy them. They long for the day when God will vindicate them and return them to their home and Biblical roots.
But God’s people don’t need the physical anymore. It has served its purpose; the lessons are now recorded in the Old Testament for all to learn. Those lessons are stepping stones, a primer to something better. Why long for the shadow when you can have the real thing?

The purpose of this book is to make available a number of listings and outlines on particular topics that the author has written about in the last 20 years. They have been extracted from other books that are currently in print. The point is to make them available for quick reference and an aid to teaching.
Don’t be surprised that, after surveying the full scope of the Bible’s presentation of a topic, you will discover material and conclusions that you not only didn’t expect, but have been believing the exact opposite of. That, unfortunately, is due to our modern superficial religion that promises much but delivers little – in fact, has created a religion that doesn’t match the message of the Bible; it’s not based on data but on opinions and feelings and our modern cultural mandates. The Bible requires deep meditation.
The testimony of the truth is in the text. Learn to dispose of your opinions and those of others, and humbly sit at the feet of the Master as he teaches you his eternal Truth.

Children have a character trait that few adults appreciate - they will believe anything you tell them! For that reason, it's vitally important to teach them as much about Jesus as you can while they are young. They can learn a great deal more than you might imagine.
But you need to know enough about Jesus to teach them the right things!
In Teaching Children About Jesus the emphasis is on you the teacher/parent - first you need to understand who Jesus is, so that you will know the right things to teach your children. Then we will look at the kinds of things that children need to know about Christ, and some examples on how to present it to them.

The Church has a Mission: God's people are called to prepare to live with him in Heaven. It's the Church's job to help them get there. The problem is that there is going to be war for the people of God, all the way to the Promised Land.
But if the Church hopes to be of any help to Christians, it will have to learn how to apply energetic and efficient methods to reach the goal. The military understands the concept of a Mission, drills and training, discipline, unity, perseverance and loyalty. This model will go a long way to helping the Church achieve its Mission. Leaders are the most responsible for making the Mission of the Church happen.
The purpose of this book, then, is to transfer the concepts of military discipline and fighting to the context of the Church, to give Church leaders the tools and methodology they need to achieve their objective -- for the benefit of the whole church.

The Gospel of Christ is the heart of the Church's message to the world. But the modern form of the Gospel is missing what the Apostles taught -- which means that we are not teaching what was passed on to us about Jesus.
The Apostles had a profound grasp of the truths of the Old Testament, and that gave them the insights they needed to preach the "whole counsel of God" about Christ.
Jesus is literally the fulfillment of the Old Testament Kingdom; to believe in Jesus is to understand and believe in the Heir of the Covenant, and the Son of David.

The Jews share our Scriptures, our God, our hope of Heaven -- but they can't bring themselves to share our Messiah.
It's important for Christians to understand what really makes us different from the Jews. Simply put, the Jews have lost almost everything that used to make them what they were. Now all that they have is a man-made religion that can't fulfill the commands of the Law of Moses.
It's time for them to see that God has replaced their physical system with a spiritual one. Only in Christ will the Jew find what he is looking for in his God.

God is called “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” a total of 18 times in the Bible – and in the New Testament, 6 times.
Abraham’s name is used 246 times across the Bible. Jesus and the Apostles mention his name 70 times in the New Testament. Why, then, do modern preachers hardly ever mention his name in their sermons?
According to the Apostles and Prophets, the Patriarchs and their faith is the very foundation of Christianity. The Apostle Paul tells us that the Gospel was first preached to Abraham. And (Paul goes on to say) if we have the faith of Abraham, we will become his heirs and inherit the Treasures that God first gave to him and the other Patriarchs.
There are two ways to interpret the book of Genesis: either as a series of morality lessons, or as spiritual concepts that are far more fundamental to our Christian faith. According to the Apostles, God first gave “the right to become children of God” to the Patriarchs – and we now inherit that same Treasure if we become one of Abraham’s Family.
Adam failed God in the first Creation, so God is planning to make a new Creation. And Genesis describes the new Son who will live and rule in that new Creation.

The Psalms were not created by man; they were created by God. David learned this truth from his God and wrote down what God revealed to him.
David learned how to approach Israel’s God, and he learned what issues were on God’s heart. He was passionate about God’s will being fulfilled on earth. He knew what the people of Israel had to do to please their God; he wrote things that would truly glorify God. The LORD put David in this critical place in history just for this very purpose – to inform the Israelites (and us) about the kind of worship that identified, and glorified, the only God. The Mission? To bless the people of God with the Covenant Promises first given to the Patriarchs, in strict accordance with the Law of God, by means of a divinely structured Kingdom on earth.
So the Psalms weren’t an option for God’s people, they were mandatory for them. And if we want to please God, this is how we also must worship him. It’s a pattern for the entire Church – past, present and future.
