Equipping the saints for the work of ministry ...

The Children of God have a special Treasure set aside for them by their Father in Heaven.
It’s not this world. It’s pointless to beg God for what he knows will do you no good in the long run.
What he has for you is an eternal weight of glory. It’s the same Treasure he gave his Eternal Son on his Resurrection morning. And in Christ we too can inherit those same Treasures.
In fact, we need to be drawing on those Treasures now to help us in our walk of faith. This book will show you what those Treasures are and how to store them up for your future needs.

If we could see ourselves as God does, the problem of sin would suddenly take on the urgency of getting out of a house on fire.
Sin is the one thing separating us from God. It has ruined us, it has ruined our world, and it prevents us from experiencing the joy and perfection of the original Creation design.
It’s a spiritual cancer destroying our souls which has no remedy in this world. There is no future hope for a sinner — not unless drastic action is taken. The Bible is plain on this.
But getting people to even admit that they are sinners is a near-impossible task. Unless God reveals our true state, we will never see it. There are many ways people deny and excuse their sin — none of which will help them on Judgment Day.
Only a few will be privileged to that precious revelation of their hearts and come to God for the Remedy.

Being a leader in the Church — even a trained leader — doesn’t automatically guarantee that one’s interpretation of the Bible is correct. And if a leader teaches the wrong doctrines, then he's guilty of leading church members into believing the wrong doctrines.
Over the centuries the confusion — over how to interpret the Bible, with hundreds of millions of Christians and hundreds of thousands of denominations and churches each contributing their own version of what it means —has left us with the feeling that there may be no single unified meaning to God’s Word. In the end, it all depends on what people want to hear.
But God has his own message in the Bible that he expects us all to see. It requires more than a superficial read-through, and it requires setting aside our opinions and culture and traditions.
Warning: if we don’t hear what God is really saying, we are guilty of changing his eternal Word into a false religion.

The Church is surrounded by desperate enemies who want to destroy our peace, undermine our Bible, drain our resources, steal our people away to their side and prevent others from joining us, and generally wreak havoc in our ranks and bring our name into disrepute.
If the Church hopes to win its battles in our modern culture, it’s time to turn to the tried-and-true principles of war. In fact, the reason we are doing so badly is because, for the most part, Church leaders and members refuse to go to a war footing and train for battle.
There are ways to stop the enemy in his tracks and “rescue the perishing.” It’s time to learn war.
“Blessed be the LORD, my rock,
who trains my hands for war,
and my fingers for battle.” (Psalm 144:1)

Here is the central message of the entire Bible.
God first made man “in his image” – he created us as his family on earth, with privileges as his children.
Since man failed in that relationship, God is now creating a new Man who will live with the Father in Heaven. Through Israel’s history we learn what it takes to create the new sons of God, and in the New Testament we see the eternal Son himself, with whom we are united in the Spirit to share his life in the Family of the Trinity.
At the end of time, the process will be complete, and all those who are in Christ will be transformed into the image of the Son that God loves.

God made man “in his own image” — because Adam was the one created to rule the earth.
But after his rebellion against God, Adam was forced to live in a cursed world as the animals do: “without God and without hope.” The doors to Heaven were slammed shut; now mankind would live in emptiness, loneliness, and desolation. Now reduced to the state of the animals, “All the toil of man is for his mouth.”
When Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan River, he took upon himself a purpose that no human being can ever grasp: to transform an ‘animal’ into the Son of God.

Holiness is a subject that seems to confuse a lot of people; they tend to equate it with righteousness. Actually we can't truly understand what holiness is until we first come to grips with the holiness of God.
Made to enjoy God alone, man is specially designed to see and appreciate the unique nature of God. Being holy means being God-centered. As we draw close to God, we will find in him the source of all of our joy and blessing. "For from him and through him and to him are all things."
The culmination of our holiness will come when we see God from the position of our union with Christ. Then we will know God as Jesus knows him -- the highest and most intimate level of the knowledge of God that anyone will ever have. That fellowship will be the "glory" that Jesus prayed for concerning our eternity with God.
"I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one."

Baptism symbolizes a new birth, through our union with Christ. It's our entrance into eternal life that this ceremony speaks of. We have shed our sinful nature and have taken upon ourselves his new nature. We have been rescued from sin and death, and now we live in Christ.
But should believers baptize their children? Does the Bible teach that baptism and circumcision serve the same function? Are Jews and Gentiles obligated to the same laws?
Heirs of the Covenant explores two fundamental concepts of the Bible: the Abrahamic Covenant, and the shadow-to-reality switch from Old to New Testaments. These principles make the issue of baptism clear, and shows whether parents can count their children as heirs of the Covenant in Christ before conversion.

Many teachings in the Bible are plain to understand to anybody who reads them. But some stories and concepts can be confusing to the uninitiated -- with the result that the student may just get the wrong idea and believe what the Bible does not teach!
In Knots Untied, the author tackles some long-held misconceptions about the Bible. Here you will find discussions on whether Lot was a good man or bad, and whether Christians should tithe, and the truth about Creation, the temptation of Christ, and what happened to the Jewish religion in 70 AD.
This requires some careful study of the text -- get ready to look closely at what the Bible really says, not what you thought it said!

In an age when few believe the Bible anymore, Christians wonder if the Bible needs a little help from us to prove that it really is the Word of God! But God wisely made the Bible so that it needs no proof from us.
No Proof Needed looks at what God did in the Bible that makes it stand on its own feet, so to speak - the truth is so obvious here that the burden of proof is actually on the unbeliever!
Christians need to be made aware of just how powerful a tool we have in the Bible - we don't need to back down from any critic, when we're armed with this unassailable truth from Heaven.

The story of Lot is our story. This is the same situation that we find ourselves in.
What we need to do, when reading the story, is not to find fault with Lot, but to eagerly find out what God will do for any of his people who are in the same predicament.
Out of all the characters in the Bible, Lot is one of the best models for the twentieth century man, who lives in a place much bigger than Sodom, perhaps filled with much more wickedness, and finds it increasingly difficult to live a consistent Christian testimony.
We need the same God, the same mercy, the same answers, the same deliverance before we get caught up in the coming disaster. Peter got a lot of encouragement from reading the story of Lot, and we show that we understand the point of God’s Word when we find hope in it too.

Amost everyone knows that the Bible tells God’s people that they must tithe their income — that is, to give a tenth of what they earn to the work of the Lord.
But unfortunately most people haven’t bothered to look at the actual commands in the Law of God that demand the tithe. If they would check, they would find that it was for purposes that are no longer possible in our Church age.
And yet most pastors and ministers almost demand it of their congregations (even though they know that Christians are not obligated to fulfill the Law of Moses now!) — because they are desperate to finance the physical needs of the church. The New Testament does not teach the necessity for Christians to tithe – instead, it has a far greater measure of devotion for God’s people to attain.

This book describes ten critical principles that you should learn in order to fully profit from your Bible studies. These principles are like keys that open the door to the Bible. Using these Keys will illuminate page after page of the Bible's stories and teachings -- in a way that Sunday School never did for you!
Like any tool, you must first master the Keys themselves. Then you can apply the Keys to even familiar passages to start seeing the depth in God's Word, and the grand design of salvation that connects the Old and New Testaments.

For the last 100 years, the Church in America has gradually changed, generation after generation, until it has lost its historic roots and has completely taken on the consumerism and media-driven character of modern American culture -- with all its emptiness and banality.
The result is that the Church no longer has a voice in our culture, and America has lost its sole witness to the Truth. Continuing along the path that we're taking now will only make things worse. Our sins are finally catching up with us.
The only options left are either to go down with our culture in flames, or to pull back and reorganize along Biblical principles. It's going to mean walking away from our culture ("Carry the cross!") and re-establishing our Church life firmly on the Apostolic and Prophetic testimony. It's not likely that we will save America, but we may be able to bring the Church back to its Biblical roots -- if we take drastic action now, before it's too late.

Modern Christianity seems to have changed the rules along the way about what it means to be a Christian. In our churches, our faith is made as fun and as easy as possible. With little or no demands on our time and energy, the church struggles to compete with the world's pleasures -- using its own version of those pleasures -- and often loses. People are leaving the church by the millions because it doesn't touch the needs of the soul. In an effort to win the battle, the church has lost the war.
In the Bible, however, we read about the life of sacrifice, a disciplined worker, a trained soldier, a holy priest who works for the expansion of Christ's Kingdom on earth.
The true Christian doesn't need any cheap motivators to take God and the church seriously -- he is driven to succeed by Christ's Spirit within him.
In The Measure of a Christian we will see the hand of God on a Christian's life, and that alone explains his persistence and endurance as he strives for the goal of his heart.

Prayer is a special privilege that God's children can use to get close to him and enjoy his many blessings.
But many people don't know how to pray -- their prayers don't look much like the prayers of the saints recorded in the Bible!
This book explores six essential aspects of prayer that will open the doors of Heaven and make your prayers more acceptable to God.
The point of prayer, after all, is to get answers -- and if we want God to answer us, we must find out what he wants to hear!

This grammar on Biblical Greek is designed to give the absolute beginner a fair mastery of the basics of Greek. But if you would compare it to many other grammars available, you’ll notice that many of the details are missing.
First, I felt that keeping things simple, and limiting the study to the broad principles of Greek grammar, would be the best way for many students to get introduced to the language.
Second, most students of Greek (even pastors!) aren’t going to use the language to any great extent. Their purpose will be primarily to help them understand particular passages in the Greek New Testament.
Learning New Testament Greek can be fun. By keeping to the broad, simple principles, we can keep that spirit of enjoyment – much of the New Testament really is this simple to work with.

In The Witness, the author takes you through the entire Bible and gives you a chance to listen to the eyewitness testimony of men and women who have seen and heard God.
In a clever legal move, the Bible brings forth "witnesses, whom God has already chosen" who will tell us what God is really like. The Prophets and Apostles all saw him. The Father testifies about his Son, and Jesus testifies about his Father. There are even "hostile witnesses" who can assure us that God really did what the Bible says he did!
Not only is this testimony a solid proof for the truth of the Bible, it gives the people of God the strong foundation that they need for their faith in him.

The Bible can be a confusing book to many people -- especially when they look at the hundreds of stories and characters strewn throughout the Old and New Testaments.
Where the Paths Meet takes a close look at just the major themes of the Old Testament -- and then looks at how they dovetail right into the two major themes of the New Testament. When we do this, a single picture comes into view -- the message of the entire Bible.
When we look at the Bible in this way, it's clear that the paths of the Old lead us naturally into the paths of the New. Suddenly we realize that God wrote this book to give us one story!
